PV Sindhu will be looking for her first title after she wins at the BWF World Championship in August when she leads the Indian challenge at the Denmark Open beginning on October 15.  Saina Nehwal will be in the competition with Sindhu in the womens singles whereas, World Championships bronze medalist Sai Praneeth, Parupalli Kashyap, HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth and Sameer Verma will also be in the competition. Sindu surprisingly was not able to make even the first and second round at the China Open and Korean Open since her historic win at the World Championships.  The tournament will start with a match between Sindhu and Gregoria Mariska Tunjung from Indonesia.

On the other hand, Saina will face Japan's Sayaka Takahashi in her first match.

On the other hand, Praneeth faces a difficult match against Chinese great Lin Dan in his first-round encounter. Kashyap, the former bronze medalist at Commonwealth Games, on the other hand, will be up against Thailand's Sitthikom Thammasin.

A former Super 750 champion, Kidambi Srikanth will face Anders Antononsen from Denmark. Srikanth is looking for a good comeback after skipping the China and Korea Opens due to his knee injury. He had beaten Antonsin at the 2017 World Championships.

Since than Srikanth has struggled to emulate the form he showed in 2017, while Antonsen has risen to fourth in the rankings, winning the Indonesia Masters, Barcelona Spain Masters, European Games and made it to the final of the Indonesia Open Super 1000 this year.

HS Prannoy, who is returning after a bout of dengue, faces eighth-seeded Indonesian Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

In the men's doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, who had earlier won the Thailand Open, will face Korea's Kim Gi Jung and Lee Yong Dae.

The bronze medalists of CWG, Ashwini Ponnappa, and N Sikki Reddy, are up against Japanese top seeds Mayu Matsumoto and Wakana Nagahara.
