ICC WOMEN'S WORLD CUP SCHEDULE 2020 The ICC Women's T20 World Cup is the international championship for the women's Twenty20 International cricket held every other year. The Cricket Championship is organized under the International Cricket Council (ICC) by the sport's governing body of India. The first edition of the ICC T20 Women's World Cup was held in the year 2009 in England.For the first three editions, a total of eight teams participated. Beginning from the year 2014, the number of participants was raised to ten. At each tournament held, a number of teams are automatically qualified and the remaining teams are found by the Qualifier of World Twenty20.Australia is the most successful team and has been the winner of the tournament four times. The 2020 ICC Women's T20 World Cup is the seventh edition. It is going to be held starting from 21st February 2020 till 8th March 2020 in Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The final has been decided to take place on the International Women's Day. There will be 10 teams that will participate in the tournament. It has been finalised that the ICC Women's T20 World Cup for the year 2022 will be hosted by South Africa. This year, the only team which will appear for the first time is Thailand.The Qualification of the teams is determined by the ICC Women's Twenty20 international rankings as well as an event for the qualification known as the Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier.The Indian Cricket team of a total of 15 members will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur. She has the experience of playing in the Women's Big Bash League. This will be helpful for her in making a better plan for the Indian Women's Cricket team. On 12 January 2020, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had made the announcement of the Indian squad that will include Harmanpreet Kaur (c), Taniya Bhatia (wk), Harleen Deol, Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Richa Ghosh, Veda Krishnamurthy, Smriti Mandhana, Shikha Pandey, Arundhati Reddy, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Pooja Vastrakar, Shafali Verma, Poonam Yadav and Radha Yadav.The Indian team has members who have good playing experience. We have Bengal's batswoman Richa Ghosh and the 15-year-old Haryana's Shafali Verma. They will be playing for the first global meet after showcasing a good performance at the international level in the first season.In the year 2018, the ICC Women's T20 World Cup, hosted by West Indies was won by Australia by 8 wickets. The player of the tournament was Alyssa Healy (225 runs).While in the year 2016, the tournament was hosted by India and the Team of West Indies won the tournament by 8 wickets. The player of the tournament was Stafanie Taylor (225 runs and 8 wickets).Australia is the defending champions that they are, will be playing against India in their Opening match of 2020 tournament. A total of six locations in four Australian cities have been selected for hosting the matches. All the matches even the final has a ticket price starting at $20 for the adults. The tickets for children have been priced at $5.
