Former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has been appointed as the official ambassador for the upcoming T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place in the United States of America (USA) and the West Indies in June this year, by the International Cricket Council (ICC).

Yuvraj joins Caribbean star Chris Gayle and Olympic legend Usain Bolt as the prominent faces of this tournament. He will be actively involved in various promotional activities leading up to the event, including the buildup for the highly anticipated India-Pakistan clash in New York on June 9.

Expressing his excitement, Yuvraj stated, "Some of my most cherished cricketing moments are from the T20 World Cup, including the memorable feat of hitting six sixes in an over. It's a thrill to be involved in this edition, which promises to be the biggest one yet."

He further remarked, "The West Indies holds a special place for cricket, with its vibrant fan base creating an unparalleled atmosphere, while cricket's expansion in the USA is a development I'm eager to support through the T20 World Cup. Witnessing India's clash against Pakistan in New York, one of the biggest sporting events of the year, is an honor and I look forward to experiencing it firsthand."

Yuvraj's T20I career includes 57 matches, where he amassed 1177 runs at an average of 27, with a strike rate of 136.38, including eight half-centuries and a remarkable tally of 77 boundaries and 74 maximums. He also contributed with the ball, claiming 28 wickets at an economy rate of 7.07. Yuvraj's legendary performance in the 2007 T20 World Cup, where he struck six sixes in an over against Stuart Broad, remains etched in cricketing history.
