The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup has a new date, thanks to the global pandemic that has stopped the sport. The tournament, which was scheduled to take place in India in November this year, will be held in February 2021. It will start on February 17 and end on March 7.
The Football Association issued a statement in this regard, in which it also indicated the changes in the eligibility criteria as well as the dates. He stated that the player who was born on and after January 1, 2003 and before December 31, 2005, will be eligible to participate in the tournament.
16 teams will participate, where the Indian hosts will be in the automatic qualifiers. India will make its debut in the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup.
The decision to postpone the matches was taken by a FIFA-Confederations working group recently created by the FIFA Council Table to address the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The masterpiece of the women's age group is planned for November 2-21. It has spread across the country in five different cities including Kolkata, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Ahmedabad and Navi Mumbai. The official schedule of the tournament was announced in February and Navi Mumbai hosted the final.
