ISU Announces the Figure Skating Calendar for 2019/20

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating is an international Skating competition where participants take part from around the world. This year the Skating competition will start from October 2019 and it will last until December 2019. There are various competitions organized by different performers. If you perform well in such events, then you will automatically get better ratings in Skating Calendar for 2019/20. Medals will be given to participants depending on their performance which will make it more exciting. Every participant will be awarded points based on their performance and the performers who are placed in the top six gets a chance to Compete at Grand Prix Final which is held at Turin, Italy.

What is the Schedule for these Skating Programs?

The ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating is going to start from October 2019 and then last till December 2019. Skaters for the events are invited or selected on the basis of their performance. There are certain parameters on which the selection of the skaters is based upon. First of all, a list of all the eligible players is selected and then they are invited to perform in this competition, which will help them in knowing their preparation for the world championship. These tournaments are organized after considering certain things and schedule is created for every performance. 

Requirements for participation in these events

Invitation for participation is based on their performance in various international events. If you have enough achievements then you will be selected for Skating Calendar for 2019/20.  As every country is eligible to send three participants for these events. If some skaters are not invited to these events then they can take part in the hosting country. This way the hosting country can select their top performers and show their skills. There is a point based system for the selection of international events. 

In order to be eligible for participation in these events, you need to be at least 15 years of age. This is very important as you cannot participate if you are underage. From the year 2011, there is a minimum score requirement which was included to the senior Grand Prix Serious. For men, the minimum points are 168.60, Ladies 117.48, Pairs 130.71 and Ice dance 111.15.

Various types of Skating events
