BCCI says T20 tournament not possible with travel restrictions on, reopening of stadiums not enoughAlthough the Home Ministry’s nod to reopen the sports fields, the BCCI is not considering organizing the Indian Premier League at this time. According to BCCI Arun Dhumal, no plan in place for this year's IPL contract, provided there are restrictions on international and domestic travel."IPL is not possible at this time because there are still travel restrictions. How can you have an IPL without any trip happening? We are studying these guidelines and we will also study state government guidelines. Accordingly, we will plan."On Sunday, the Ministry of Home Affairs MHA) issued guidelines indicating that sports stadiums can open without an audience. Sports complexes and stadiums are allowed to open; but the MHA notice said, "Viewers will not be allowed."Dhumal agreed that this paved the way for cricketers to resume outdoor training individually. Domestically, crickets can go to stadiums and resume training outdoors. Dhumal said, "The whole team cannot be united because the players are scattered."Any useful discussion about IPL is known to only begin in August. But finding a window is still a problem. According to an official at the International Chamber of Commerce, although a section of IPL cricket managers and stakeholders seem to have considered that the postponement of the T20 World Cup in Australia, scheduled for October and November, may not be an open and closed case. The World Cup T20 is an event for the International Criminal Court. "It will bring revenue to the world organization and the International Criminal Court will do its best to organize the tournament on time," he said. After locked them in for nearly 54 days, the new Home Office guidelines are a glimmer of hope for elite athletes at the country's major sports institutes, where they can now resume training. However, those outside the SAI campus may have to wait until at least June, as they may have to go through a quarantine period before being able to train at the centers.Athletes urged the government to allow them to train, and those on campus complained of nostalgia. An Indian Sports Authority (SAI) official has not waived when athletes will be able to resume training, but it is already known that those on their campus are: hockey teams in Bangalore, while some in athletics and weightlifting in Patiala, will receive Green signal this week.Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju held online meetings with athletes from these three sports last week and said that there would be a gradual resumption of training, with priority given to those already in the SAI centers. These athletes will have to follow the strict protocols and guidelines for the social distance set by the supreme monitor and their unions.Read More: When I go to bat my heart rate is upraised, I feel the pressure - DhoniArticle source: https://indianexpress.com/
MUMBAI: Now that the ICC T20 World Cup scheduled in Australia this year between October and November, the question to be asked in the rounds is how and where this edition is modified between 2021 and 2023.A day after TOI reported that the postponement of the 2020 edition is a certainty, and an official announcement on the doorstep, the International Criminal Court's Financial and Trade Affairs Committee (FMCA) met in a teleconference with ICC CEO Manu Sawhney presiding over it.Among other things on the agenda, the main debate has revolved around how and where this year's T20 World Cup is being modified, one that will be lost in the epidemic that has caused global cricket, like any other sport around the world. . .“It was proposed for the first time to postpone this year’s edition (World Cup T20) to February and March of next year. This is no longer possible. Then it was suggested the other day to allow Australia to host the 2021 version and informed sources of events told TOI that India should do so in February and March 2022.However, it is understood that certain members of the FMCA, a committee chaired by the President of the Pakistan Cricket Council, Ehsan Mani, opposed the proposal. The logic behind the objection? If the T20 World Cup is organized in October / November next year, how can the T20 World Cup be organized in February / March? "Do we say that the team that wins the 2021 tournament will remain a champion for only five or six months? What's the point of that?" sources added.First, the British Chamber of Commerce and Industry did not exchange its views on the matter. Second, given BCCI revenue at stake, as they host the 2021 version, their views on this issue have not been researched yet. "If all countries are concerned about the epidemic affecting income cycles, then it is so for India. The other side is that India is being hit, which means everyone will be affected by it. The views of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry are very necessary," industry officials say.The FMCA, led by Mani, as its independent director ICC Independent Director Indra Nooyi,President of Cricket South Africa (CSA) Chris Nenzani, President of the European Central Bank Colin Graves, President of Cricket Australia Earl Eddings, and Vice President of the International Criminal Court Imran Khawaja. The ICC President Shashank Manohar and CEO Sawhney are also on the commission by holding other important positions in the governing body."Two years ago it was adequately confirmed that India would not have a single representative on this committee. The Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has raised this as a matter of principle in the past, but thanks to the administrative deadlock that leaked due to court issues, India has not been able to follow this vigorously, " add those in the know. Why should the Indian Cricket Council agree to host the tournament in 2022 in February-March and give up hosting rights in 2021?"To suit Cricket Australia?BCCI is already making sure Cricket Australia is not losing by making sure India makes tours there this year for the test series. If the International Criminal Court and Cricket Australia want India to compel it in 2021 by agreeing to host in 2022, the Chamber of Commerce will be fair in claiming sufficient reasons and seeking a fair share of the obligation in return, "says follow-up developments. Also, why would the station agree? Star India coincides with ICC news anchor, as well as the Indian Premier League (IPL), which takes place annually in April and May. "Why would they agree to accept successive T20 events? It is not recommended to play in a window from October to November because it does not clash with other features in the same format," the sources added.Read More: India May Tour South Africa In August For Three-Match T20I SeriesArticle Source : Times of India
The Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council will meet over the weekend in a conference call, followed by a meeting with key stakeholders: franchisees, broadcasters, and central sponsors. The meetings will chart out the "final plan" for the tournament, which will take place in the UAE from September 19.This comes after reported on concerns raised by the dealership about the arrangements being made for the 13th edition of the IPL. "In all these years of the IPL, the responsibility for accommodation, hospitality, travel, etc., during the IPL, was with the owners of the team. Nothing will change this year. The only change will be in the POEs regarding COVID "President Brijesh Patel said, also confirming the dates for the Meetings.BCCI decided to share its plans with UAE on MondayBio-secure bubble: Strict protocols being put in place. Each franchise agency will create its own bubble in which the team only interacts with the limited number of people in its ecosystem or assigned to them by the BCCI. A similar bubble will be created for employees of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, broadcasters, etc. Only through pre-designated coordinators will anyone be allowed to interact with people outside of their bubble.Revenue pools: Since the 60 IPL matches were played in 51 days, there will be no change in the distribution of the CBI's central income group.Gate money: If IPL were not to happen, franchises would not have sought any income. Letting go of gate money, the board says, is "pittance".Travel & accommodation: The franchise must specify its own travel and residence arrangements in the United Arab Emirates. Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry will coordinate with UAE authorities to guarantee "discounted hotel rates" and share them with concessions. Thereafter, the franchise would have the right to compromise on the options available to BCCI or to make its own arrangements. The franchise will take its players to the Emirates and vice versa, as is the case during the IPL in India each year.Medical assistance: Franchises will organize their own medical teams and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organize a central medical team. Once the players and support staff arrive in the UAE, the burden of proof will fall on the dealer, who in turn will coordinate with the BCCI medical team 24/7. The medical team of each franchise will remain with their teams in the security bubble.Player replacement & loaning: There will be no change in player policy and franchises will be free to travel with additional players to avoid last-minute travel. The Board and the Board are working in fine detail to prepare a draft of these policies to be discussed at Saturday's meeting and then shared with the concessions. "Once we share what we do with the benefits, we know there will be questions. We need to be fully prepared," says Patel.Source: Times of IndiaAlso Read:Brijesh Patel: IPL 2020 will start on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates

economic slowdown has recently hit the country.According to The Times of India, BCCI has sent a circular to all IPL stakeholders, including eight franchises, stating that the Playoffs Permanent Fund has been reduced and that there will be no opening ceremony from this season. The board proposed a roughly 50% reduction in prize money for 2020, something the franchisees did not fully agree with. The winner will get 10 crores as prize, unlike last season when they got 20 crores. The second place winner will receive Rs 6.25 crore, and the third and fourth place teams will receive Rs 4,375 crore each.Additionally, the state associations will receive the same money per match as the perks, which is 1 cr per IPL match, according to TOI sources. Meanwhile, the report also indicated that starting from this season, foreign and international Indian players may be on loan. Also from IPL 2020 onwards, the car will be implemented without a ball. Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) will introduce a new protocol for automatic front / rear football. Tested in 2019 and during recent Kolkata Pink Ball test. The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also set new travel policies for its employees. Previously, more than three hours of flight would have resulted in a business class ticket for senior staff. But now they will have to travel in economy class if the hours are less than eight hours. TOI sources said that except for two or three high-ranking employees, the rule would apply to everyone.
Former Indian Premier League (IPL) President Rajiv Shukla is likely to become Vice-Chair of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), while former Indian cricketer Brigesh Patil will continue to serve as chairman of Indian Premier League (IPL) for a second term. The members of the Board of Directors decided not to hold any elections, but by unanimous decisions to fill the vacant positions. The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry will elect its vice president and two members of the Board of Directors of IPL at its annual general meeting in Ahmedabad on December 24th.It is learned that they have all accepted the election of Shukla to the position of the next vice president, and he will submit his candidacy on Thursday.Shukla had never held a position at BCCI before, but he was Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) until 2017. He was also the President of the IPL until 2018.It is understood that the Election Officer did not count Shukla's term as IPL Chair in determining the reflection period, as the Board Subcommittee was considered before adopting the Lodha Committee recommendations a year ago.Shukla was UPCA's nominee for membership of BCCI AGM and his candidacy has been approved by BCCI Election Officer on the final list submitted to members.Shukla was unavailable for comment.Meanwhile, in a notice, Board Secretary Jay Shah has informed all members to undergo RT-PCR tests, which detect Covid-19, before coming to the General Assembly. The Board will test them again in Ahmedabad before they are allowed to attend the Ordinary General Assembly meeting. Also Read: IPL 2020 Final Result: Mumbai Indians become the fifth time trophy winner
IPL Auctions 2021 - No major sponsor on board yet:The biggest cricket league in the world, the Indian Premier League (IPL), once again has no sponsors. The relationship between IPL and title sponsor Dream11 ended on December 31 with a very remote chance to renew the deal with the flagship fantasy platform. Neither the official IPL website (Iplt20.com) nor any of the IPL press releases bear the Dream11 name or logo.Senior BCCI Officer in Sponsor Status IPL 2021. We are told that it is likely that the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) will make a new bid for the main sponsor, as a return to the former sponsors VIVO is not possible."Bidding for the new main sponsor is the only possible option currently available. The IPL deal for 2020 was almost half of it and we cannot continue it. A return to LIVE is also unlikely in the current situation. A Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry official said:" The final decision will be made on the new bid. And sponsor the title soon. "It should be noted that BCCI suspended its 440 Cr sponsorship deal with VIVO in the wake of anti-China sentiment ahead of IPL 2020. This led to Dream11 entering as a title sponsor, but for 222Cr, which is nearly half the price of the VIVO bargain. While signing the agreement, Dream11 tried to negotiate with BCCI to extend the rights to IPL 2022 also at the same price. But BCCI held up and the deal was eventually signed for only one season, i.e. IPL 2020.Will the auction take place without the main sponsor on board? The Board of Directors decided to hold the IPL Auctions 2021 on February 18th in Chennai, which is less than 3 weeks old. It will be difficult for BCCI to terminate the main sponsor before IPL auctions 2021.The IPL Auction is a widely broadcast and televised event in which the Main Sponsor, in particular, earns a large number of Miles and it currently appears that the auction in Chennai will be held without the Main Sponsor.Options with BCCI -1) Renegotiate the deal with Dream11:- Seems unlikely. This could put BCCI in a legal mess. The title sponsorship tender published by BCCI prior to the IPL 2020 was for only one year and if BCCI decided to renegotiate the agreement with Dream11 for another year, that would be contrary to the terms of the bid and could be challenged by the competing parties.2) Return to VIVO:- BCCI has all contractual rights to return to VIVO as the main sponsor. But the question is, will they risk defying the public sentiment that is still against China and Chinese companies? Once again, the choice appears unlikely.3) Bid for the main sponsor:-This appears to be the most feasible option in the current circumstances. This gives everyone involved a fair chance. Even BCCI can get a prime sponsor of similar value to what VIVO promised thanks to the massive audience numbers of IPL 2020.The problem with choice is lack of time. The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) is unlikely to launch a tender in the next few days and complete the paperwork ahead of IPL auctions 2021.So don't be surprised if auctions for the world's largest cricket league take place without a major sponsor on board on February 18.Also Read: India vs England 2021 | England tour of India Full Schedule, venue, dates - All you need to know
Chennai: The second test between India and England at MA Chidambaram, which will take place from 13-17 February, is ready for fans to enter the stadium and has filled 50% of the seating capacity. It is frightening," the PCB Chief said appearing before the Senate Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial affairs on Thursday in Islamabad. It was just a line at the end of the press release announcing the Test Team for the Tour of South Africa. On Wednesday, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry dismissed Virat Kohli from the leadership of the Indian ODI team and handed the full load of the white ball to Rohit Sharma. The test unlocks tool will now drive both sides of the T20I and ODI.A senior official in the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that this decision had been in the works for some time, but the final decision was made by the selectors. BCCI wanted complete clarity between the red ball and the white cricket ball. The BCCI wanted a complete separation (of command) between the longer and shorter format to avoid confusion. In the end, the decision was left to the selector. They have decided to appoint Rohit as the new captain of ODI,” a BCCI source told the Indian Express. In contrast to the change of leadership of the T20I, where Kohli made the announcement citing his workload, the change of leadership of ODI is seen as a BCCI decision. Three months ago, after resigning as T20I captain, Kohli expressed his desire to lead India in Tests and ODIs in the future. “Understanding the workload is very important, considering the huge workload I have been in playing all three formats over the past 8-9 years and captaining regularly for the last 5-6 years, I feel I have to be a part of the Indian team. You need to be in a position to fully prepare to drive. ODI Cricket and Test Team,” he wrote on Instagram on September 16.However, after India's expected exit from the T20 World Cup, it became clear that BCCI was not on the same page as Kohli. They will make it official at the first opportunity they are given. Announcement of the Test Team in which Kohli was the Captain and Sharma the Vice Captain: “The All India Supreme Selection Committee has also decided to appoint Mr. Rohit Sharma as the captain of the ODI and T20I teams.”Indian Express has also learned that Kohli was not informed of the decision in advance. Again, this was a departure from the past. While stepping down as T20I captain, Kohli recalled his talks with former India coach Ravi Shastri, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, and Board Secretary Jay Shah before making the decision. It was also his choice to leave leading the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in the Indian Premier League. The first indications of Kohli's volatile stance on the bench came when BCCI hired MS Dhoni as the team's mentor at the October-November T20 World Cup. Kohli's inability to win the ICC events was a concern of the Indian Board of Directors. Insiders say it was India's performance in the T20 World Cup that decided Kohli's future. However, in a move that surprised even BCCI officials, Kohli announced his decision to quit driving T20I even before the tournament started. His desire to continue as a test and ODI captain worried the stewards. With India hosting the 2023 World Cup for 50 years, Kohli did not want to let go of the ODI captain. In a way, it was Kohli who was abusing the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Remove me from the ODI Team Leader position, if you wish. BCCI did the same on Wednesday.Going back in timeThe captain's decisions in Indian cricket are never left to the players. Kapil Dev was fired a year after his 1983 World Cup win. Sunil Gavaskar resigned after winning the 1985 World Cricket Championship. Sourav Ganguly was revoked under bitter circumstances. Even Dhoni, who had three world titles in his bag, was hit in the shoulder by the selection committee at the time when it felt the need to change the white ball captain. Kohli probably couldn't read the room.In another interesting development, the selectors have promoted Sharma to auditioning for Vice Captain instead of Ajinkya Rahane, despite the latter being selected for the three-game series in South Africa. Sharma's growing standing on the team could give way to reading between the lines, which has begun to phase out Kohli's style.Kohli has been one of the most successful white ball captains in India. In the 95 ODI, he won 65, giving him a win percentage of over 70. In the 45 T20I, he led India to win 27 times. Sharma has always been Kohli's assistant in limited cricket, captaining the team in 10 ODI and 19 T20I before being given the full-time job during the last three-match streak against New Zealand. I started with a clean sweep. Five IPL titles led by the Mumbai Indians made him the successor to Kohli.Read more latest news to visit now - PITCHHIGH

There were no offenses, no hesitation, and not once did I say 'You shouldn't resign the T20 captain.'" With India's COVID-19 curve facing an alarming rise, BCCI has put in place a contingency plan to host the upcoming Indian Premier League on overseas shores. If the virus outbreak does not subside by April, when the newly expanded 10-team event is expected to start, the Indian board of directors is ready to move the IPL 15 season to South Africa, which previously won the T20 league in 2009. BCCI is also exploring an alternative to Sri Lanka as You keep your pandemic plan B on paper. It is known that the office of BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has had to reschedule the BCCI is IPL Schedule for 2021 in light of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases and the increasing rate of positivity. The moment the Ranji Cup postponement was announced, discussions about the possibility of moving to the IPL began. Later, when the Cooch Behar Under-19 National Cup was postponed due to multiple positive cases, nuances began to take shape. In contrast to the past two years, when the flagship event of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry with an international flavor due to the epidemiological situation in the country was held fully and partially in the UAE, the Indian Council was keen to look outside the place of the Gulf this time. . An official at the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry said, "We cannot rely on the UAE all the time, so we decided to explore more options. The time difference from South Africa is also beneficial for the players."With India 3 hours 30 minutes ahead of South Africa, the IPL games will not end last night, unlike the UAE or India. If broadcasters stick to their favorite start at 7:30 p.m. M. IST, the first ball of the match will be thrown in South Africa at 4:00 PM. M. Over the years, players have often complained about IPL games ending after midnight. Constant air travel, as well as uncertain playing IPL Schedule, have deprived players of the time to rest and recover. Another factor that made the Indian board of directors look forward to South Africa was the series' ongoing success and the India tour before that. The test team's reaction played a major role in the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry's decision. Although the team has been in a bio bubble since the start of the tour last month, the sprawling hotels and resorts designated by the South African Cricket Board for the tour party have been a welcome respite for the players. Since the sport has resumed in times of the pandemic, there have been concerns about the mental health of players as they have been quarantined for an extended period of time. This time the IPL consists of 10 teams, so season 15 will be the longest season ever.He said: The place where the team stopped for the second test is spread over several acres. An official said there was a walking path and even a pond at the property, which made things easier for players, who have been limited to their rooms on several outdoor runs in recent years.Doubts arose about the tour before the Indian national team arrived in South Africa last month. Around this time, South Africa identified the new variant of Kovid-19, Omicron. There was global panic as Gauteng province, which was due to host the first two tests, saw a spike in Covid-19 cases and hospitalizations. The Dutch national team had boycotted the tour and the Indian Football League was in a cloud of uncertainty. These incidents forced the SA Board and BCCI to rearrange the tour dates and delay the start of the Test series. However, with the strict implementation of COVID protocols and a significant decrease in the spread of the virus, the series of tests has so far continued without interruption. In just a few months, the perception of South Africa as a sporting venue has changed, with the latest COVID-19 data in South Africa indicating a daily drop-in infection.Previews article - Tata replaces as Vivo IPL title sponsor for the final two years - IPL Sponsors
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma marked their T20I return after a hiatus of more than a year. But, what made the BCCI hand them call-ups for the Afghanistan series? The Indian cricket spectrum jumped with joy as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma marked their return to the national team in the T20I format as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced squad for the Afghanistan series. Kohli and Rohit hadn't played a T20 international since the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2022 but are back in the reckoning, especially as the Afghanistan series remains Team India's last before next year's T20 World Cup.Though Kohli and Rohit remain two of the most sought-after batters of their generation, their contributions in the shortest format haven't been as welcoming in the last couple of years as the critics would've liked. In fact, the delay the BCCI selection committee had in announcing the squad for the Afghanistan series also seems to have had something to do with the selection of Kohli and Rohit. But, what made the BCCI select the veteran duo for the series? We take a look at potential reasons:1. Rohit Sharma's Aggression, Virat Kohli's FormIn the ODI World Cup 2023, Rohit's aggression at the top of the order was one of the biggest positives for the team. Rohit's fiery cameos gave the team flying starts and a similar impact can be expected from him in the T20 World Cup next year. Such intent made it hard for the selectors to ignore him.As for Kohli, arguably the finest batter of his generation, he has been in sublime form in the ODI format, playing the role of an anchor effortlessly. He also went past Sachin Tendulkar's record of most ODI centuries during the World Cup. Going by Kohli's form and impact on the field, it is hard for the BCCI to not consider him for the shortest format.2. Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav's absenceWith the duo of Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav absent due to injury concerns, two big spots open up in the Indian squad. With Hardik and Surya out, the selectors can't find a better leader to guide the team than Rohit.Though Rohit and Kohli's playing styles could be different in comparison to Surya and Hardik, the fear they instill in the minds of opponent team's bowlers isn't inferior by any means.3. Virat's Adaptability, Rohit's LeadershipWhen it comes to subcontinent conditions, the Indian team has many options to consider in the T20I format but things change a little when planning for the T20 World Cup in South Africa. Virat Kohli's ability to adapt himself to challenging conditions and deliver remains unparalleled. He rose the highest as India went to South Africa for the Test series, scoring the most number of runs in challenging conditions. Hence, to leave him out of the picture entirely for the T20 World Cup in the Rainbow Nation is a mistake the BCCI might want to avoid. As for Rohit, he remains the No. 1 contender for the captaincy spot because of Hardik Pandya's injury record. Hardik couldn't prove his fitness for the Afghanistan series and remains a doubt for the start of IPL 2024 too. To bank on him for the T20 World Cup is a risk the selectors might not be willing to take. Also Read: The best video game consoles for 2024
Five IPL titles, record of improving players and creating a healthy team environment impresses board bigwigs, but hectic schedule may dissuade Kiwi stalwart. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is contemplating the possibility of former New Zealand captain and current Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming as a prospective successor to Rahul Dravid. However, with the BCCI's stipulation that the new head coach will oversee all three formats, it remains uncertain whether Fleming will indeed pursue the role, which would entail a commitment of 10 months per year with the team. The BCCI officially initiated the process to appoint a new head coach for the Indian men's team following the T20 World Cup. According to reliable sources within the board, Fleming, who has been at the helm of CSK since 2009, is being viewed as a suitable candidate to take over from Dravid. India is expected to undergo a period of transition across all formats in the coming years, and Fleming's adeptness in man-management, his knack for fostering a positive environment to bring out the best in players, and his commendable success rate with CSK are seen as significant assets.Informal discussions have reportedly occurred during the course of the IPL. Currently, the 51-year-old has not indicated any desire to depart from CSK, with whom the management prefers him to extend his tenure.Since assuming the role of head coach at CSK in 2009, Fleming has become a widely sought-after T20 coach across the globe. He has coached the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League for four years and is also the head coach of Joburg Super Kings in SA20 and Texas Super Kings in Major League Cricket—both affiliated with CSK. Additionally, he serves as the head coach of Southern Brave in The Hundred. Fleming is expected to have a hectic schedule in July, with MLC and The Hundred coinciding for a week. The BCCI's consideration of Fleming comes as no surprise, given the widespread admiration for his contributions. Internally, there is a high regard for Fleming, who has played a pivotal role in CSK's success story. As the longest-serving coach in the IPL, he has guided CSK to five titles and two Champions League trophies. His ability to bring out the best in players, exemplified by instances like Shivam Dube's development, is noteworthy. Moreover, his leadership program has proven beneficial for numerous Indian domestic players. It is understood that India’s senior players also prefer having a coach with such pedigree and strong technical knowledge, as it would help the next generation of players who are expected to form the core of the team over the next three years. If the BCCI is not able to lure Fleming, it would be interesting to see where it goes next. Despite England, Pakistan and South Africa splitting their coaching roles between red-ball and white-ball cricket, the BCCI is still hesitant to go for a similar approach as India doesn’t have two different sets of players for Tests and limited-overs formats. The Indian Express understands that apart from Fleming, other overseas coaches involved with IPL teams are also reluctant to take up the India job as it demands them to be on road for 10 months in a year. Even Dravid has been granted breaks from time and time, with the former India captain often skipping some white-ball series.Dravid, who was given a six-month extension post the 50-over World Cup in October-November, has his contract expiring after the T20 World Cup next month. The former India captain has the option of re-applying for the post.Key parametersThe Coach will be responsible for developing a world-class cricket team which delivers sustained success in all conditions and formats, inspiring current and future generations of cricketers and stakeholders with their approach to the game. The Head Coach will have overall responsibility for the performance and management of the India Men’s team in all three formats of the game. The Head Coach will lead a team of specialist coaches and support staff and will be responsible for defining their roles, performance and ongoing development. Also Read: 6 Teams For 3 Spots: Complete IPL 2024 Playoffs Scenario Explained

"Neither I nor the BCCI have approached any former Australian cricketer with a coaching offer. The reports circulating in certain media sections are completely incorrect," Shah said in a statement."Finding the right coach for our national team is a meticulous and thorough process.
