IPL 2020: This means that after the T20 World Cup in Australia was postponed, the Board of Control for Cricket in India set a 51-day window for IPL, the same as last year, ruling out more double addresses. The deferred version of the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be played in the United Arab Emirates will begin on September 19, and the final will be played on November 8. Brijesh Patel, Chairman of the IPL, confirmed the schedule on Friday, although the Indian board is still waiting for a green signal from the government to take out IPL from India."We have written to the Indian government. We hope to get a response very soon. Once it arrives, a meeting of the IPL Board of Directors will be held next week to finalize all other details."This means that after the T20 World Cup in Australia was postponed, the BCCI set a 51-day window for the IPL, like last year, ruling out more double addresses. Having two games on the same day has become a conflict with broadcasters, who cannot take advantage of afternoon games in the same way as night games. Even when double heads are scheduled, they are booked on weekends. The same formula will be applied when the program is finally formed. When the board meets next week, it will have to make other decisions, whether it is possible to maintain home and visitor coordination this year or not. There are three locations in the United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai, where matches can be organized. Dubai itself has two reasons; In addition to the main stadium, there is also the ICC Academy ground where T20 International Associated Nations was organized. In addition, the spending modalities must be completed, the amount the concessions will incur, and the board. Patel said, "All these matters will be decided by the Governing Council."The meeting will also decide whether IPL-13 may have limited crowds, now that the COVID-19 situation has become better there. "We will seek advice from the UAE government if we can have crowds," he said. With each team needing at least a month to train, the franchise is expected to leave the base before August 20, giving them exactly four weeks to prepare. Also Read: The NFLPA tells players that there will be no Preseason matches in 2020
The Indian Premier League (IPL) Governing Council will meet over the weekend in a conference call, followed by a meeting with key stakeholders: franchisees, broadcasters, and central sponsors. The meetings will chart out the "final plan" for the tournament, which will take place in the UAE from September 19.This comes after reported on concerns raised by the dealership about the arrangements being made for the 13th edition of the IPL. "In all these years of the IPL, the responsibility for accommodation, hospitality, travel, etc., during the IPL, was with the owners of the team. Nothing will change this year. The only change will be in the POEs regarding COVID "President Brijesh Patel said, also confirming the dates for the Meetings.BCCI decided to share its plans with UAE on MondayBio-secure bubble: Strict protocols being put in place. Each franchise agency will create its own bubble in which the team only interacts with the limited number of people in its ecosystem or assigned to them by the BCCI. A similar bubble will be created for employees of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, broadcasters, etc. Only through pre-designated coordinators will anyone be allowed to interact with people outside of their bubble.Revenue pools: Since the 60 IPL matches were played in 51 days, there will be no change in the distribution of the CBI's central income group.Gate money: If IPL were not to happen, franchises would not have sought any income. Letting go of gate money, the board says, is "pittance".Travel & accommodation: The franchise must specify its own travel and residence arrangements in the United Arab Emirates. Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry will coordinate with UAE authorities to guarantee "discounted hotel rates" and share them with concessions. Thereafter, the franchise would have the right to compromise on the options available to BCCI or to make its own arrangements. The franchise will take its players to the Emirates and vice versa, as is the case during the IPL in India each year.Medical assistance: Franchises will organize their own medical teams and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry will organize a central medical team. Once the players and support staff arrive in the UAE, the burden of proof will fall on the dealer, who in turn will coordinate with the BCCI medical team 24/7. The medical team of each franchise will remain with their teams in the security bubble.Player replacement & loaning: There will be no change in player policy and franchises will be free to travel with additional players to avoid last-minute travel. The Board and the Board are working in fine detail to prepare a draft of these policies to be discussed at Saturday's meeting and then shared with the concessions. "Once we share what we do with the benefits, we know there will be questions. We need to be fully prepared," says Patel.Source: Times of IndiaAlso Read:Brijesh Patel: IPL 2020 will start on September 19 in the United Arab Emirates

has been reduced and that there will be no opening ceremony from this season. The board proposed a roughly 50% reduction in prize money for 2020, something the franchisees did not fully agree with. The winner will get 10 crores as prize, unlike last season when they got 20 crores. The second place winner will receive Rs 6.25 crore, and the third and fourth place teams will receive Rs 4,375 crore each.Additionally, the state associations will receive the same money per match as the perks, which is 1 cr per IPL match, according to TOI sources. Meanwhile, the report also indicated that starting from this season, foreign and international Indian players may be on loan. Also from IPL 2020 onwards, the car will be implemented without a ball. Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) will introduce a new protocol for automatic front / rear football. Tested in 2019 and during recent Kolkata Pink Ball test. The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry has also set new travel policies for its employees. Previously, more than three hours of flight would have resulted in a business class ticket for senior staff. But now they will have to travel in economy class if the hours are less than eight hours. TOI sources said that except for two or three high-ranking employees, the rule would apply to everyone.
RR vs SRH Dream11 IPL 2020 Prediction, Playing 11In another high-effort Indian Premier League match on Great Thursday, Rajasthan Royals Sunrisers Hyderabad will face Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Match No. 40. The royals led by Steve Smith are sixth in the standings with eight points and still have little chance to advance to the next round. On the other hand, SRH is one point six points below it and thus has four points to memorize. RR failed to shoot Chennai Super Kings (CSK). His tactic of demoting Jos Butler to fifth, however, managed to finish the match unbeaten at 70 and lead the team to victory. Ben Stokes, Sanjo Samson and Robin Uthapa should provide a good start, while the responsibility for turning them falls to Butler and Smith. Samson has been in decline since the first two games of the season and will be looking to improve his performance.RR captain Guofra Archer (39 wickets from 31 matches) will once again lead the reins and seek support from Stokes, who has yet to make a difference. The other players, Tiwatia, Shrias Gopal, Ankit Rajput and Kartik Tiyagi were too cheap for the ball against CSK. On the other hand, SRH is on the verge of losing a tipping point, and winning alone is what keeps them optimistic. The 2016 champions are based largely on the top four: Johnny Burstow, Warner, Manish Bundy and Ken Williamson. They still couldn't find a finisher in their middle order. It was this factor, along with Williamson's injury, that drove Warner down the standings in his previous match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. He ended up pushing the match into super.RR vs SRH Pitch And Toss ReportWith first-round average scores of 174, the Dubai International Cricket Stadium saw its fair share of excitement in IPL 2020. The Bolins succeeded in this place, with enough movement available off the field on the roof to keep them interested. On paper, Punjab Kings and the Rajasthan Royals have more than a few things in common in the second leg of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both affected by the withdrawal of players and locked at six points each, the two teams will look to revive their falling campaign during their clash at Dubai International Stadium on Tuesday.Wicketkeeper captains KL Rahul and Sanju Samson comfortably sit among the top six scorers of the tournament, but their individual efforts have left no impact on their team's performances so far. With the odds stacked against them in their 14th attempt to lift the elusive trophy, Punjab Kings will hope for their coach Anil Kumble and the leadership group to get their campaign back on track. Also Read- Virat Kohli to quit RCB captaincy after the end of IPL 2021 seasonDuring his playing career, Kumble had back India from the clutches of defeat on numerous occasions. With the former India captain name doing the rounds for a second stint as head coach of the national team once Ravi Shastri completes his tenure after the T20 World Cup, the legendary leg-spinner will look to prove his mettle as a franchise coach. Before his fallout with Virat Kohli, Kumble had coached India to the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy final. However, his brief tenure as coach of the Punjab Kings has yet to produce the desired results. The Mohali-based franchise finished sixth in 2020 and is currently at the same spot midway into the IPL 2021 season.Tuesday's competition will be more about what kinds of starts can be made by the top order players on both sides. As for the Kings, Rahul and Mayank are expected to open with Chris Gale providing just the right momentum to their innings at No.3.Prabhsimran Singh is another exciting prospect at the top of the order in case he gets into the XI. The middle order will be manned by Mandeep Singh, M Shahrukh Khan and a toss-up between new recruit Aiden Markram and West Indian Nicholas Pooran, eager to get over a nightmarish first phase, where he got four ducks.Leg-spin remains Punjab's forte and the addition of experienced campaigner Adil Rashid, alongside the India pair of Ravi Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin, could come in handy in UAE conditions. The withdrawals of Riley Meredith and Jhye Richardson means Mohammed Shami is set to be partnered by either Chris Jordan or Nathan Ellis. Left-armer Arshdeep Singh's improved death bowling will also strengthen his case.Similarly for the Rajasthan, a lot will depend on the start provided by power-hitters Liam Livingston and Evin Lewis. Coming to the IPL after some sensational performances in "The Hundred" for Birmingham Phoenix, Livingston will be excited to stretch his run, while at the same time his skills will be tested against a high-quality leg-spin.Weakened by the withdrawal of Ben Stokes, Joss Butler and Jofra Archer, Rajasthan hope that their Indian Players like Rahul Tewatia, Riyan Parag, Jaydev Unadkat and Chetan Sakariya to turn the tide. Also Read- Pakistan vs New Zealand: Entire tour called off due to security concerns minutes before 1st ODI

Bolstered by the return of Captain Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians (MI), still agonizing from their defeat against the Chennai Super Kings will look to return against the Varun Chakravarthy (KKR) inspired Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Sheikh Zayed Abu Dhabi Stadium on Thursday night. The Tamil Nadu tweaker won handsome praise from India and RCB skipper Virat Kohli, who said he’s going to be “a key factor when he plays for India” after taking 3/13 in four overs. The 30-year-old’s magical spell included as many as 15 dot balls and Glenn Maxwell was one of his three scalps. When the teams met in Chennai during the first stage of the IPL, Rohit hit 43 off 32 balls and Chakravarthy took 1-27 in four overs, as MI won by 10 runs. Their 10-wicket victory over RCB allowed KKR to climb a little further to sixth spot on the table with six points from eight games. In order to keep their playoff hopes alive, they need to keep winning from here. Also Read- Virat Kohli to quit RCB captaincy after the end of IPL 2021 seasonMissing the services of their talismanic captain and India allrounder Hardik Pandya, MI went down by 20 runs to CSK on Sunday night. Both the players were rested as a precautionary measure, allowing them to recover from their niggles. While there’s still doubt over Pandya’s availability, head coach Mahela Jayawardene had said that Rohit should be returning for the KKR match. In a pre-match presser on Wednesday, MI’s left-arm pacer Trent Boult said: “They (Rohit and Hardik) are both recovering very well. In terms of their selection for the next game, I’m not too sure what’s going on there. But day by day, they are improving. It was probably more of precaution that they had that extra bit of rest the other night against Chennai. But they are obviously two vital players in the XI for Mumbai. And we’re desperate to get them back. So, fingers crossed that they’ll be pretty good to go over the next couple of games.”Lying at the fourth spot with eight games in eight matches, MI desperately need their key players for the business end of the tournament.View this post on InstagramA post shared by Mumbai Indians (@mumbaiindians)He (Rohit) was sorely missed. He is right up there in terms of experience and runs achieved in this format. So, it was a big hole but it was a good decision to make sure (that) he’s 100% with the amount of cricket coming up. If he comes to the eleven, it will be brilliant, but we want to make sure he is 100% fit,” said Boult.Whether Pandya plays on Thursday or not, he will also be seen by the Indian selectors, who chose him ahead of players like Shardul Thakur and Deepak Chahar for the T20 World Cup, which follows directly from the IPL in the United Arab Emirates.“If Hardik is fully fit, he can contribute with both bat and ball. He’s a very good player for any side. He’s working hard to get himself fit and we’re desperate to have him back,” said Boult. They would blame themselves for allowing CSK to get out of jail in the last game. Having reduced them to 24 for four in six overs, MI’s stand-in captain Kieron Pollard perhaps allowed their opponents to get off the hook when he chose to take off pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Boult and bring on his spinners. Also Read- Former Mr India contest winner Manoj Patil attempts suicide, blames actor Sahil Khan for harrassment

The Indian Premier League (IPL) could soon see some Manchester United flavour as the Red Devil owners' Glazer family are reportedly interested in buying one of the two new teams IPL teams that will take part in the tournament in 2022. According to a report by Times of India, the Glazer family has picked up the Invitation to Tender (ITT) document from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the purchase of the two new teams for the upcoming season of the cash-rich league. The ITT does allow foreign companies to own a team however they will have to set up a company in India if their bid is successful. It is not known yet whether the US-based Glazers will make a formal bid to own a franchise. “A lot of people usually pick these tender documents to study and gather information that tends to be otherwise very useful from a larger industry perspective. For instance, buying a bid document will tell me more about what the BCCI is planning next, in terms of the league expansion, etc. For instance, if Disney has bought the tender document to buy the franchise, it doesn't mean Disney is interested in owning a franchise. It will study the document because it has to plan its own media rights landscape,” said those tracking developments to Times of India. In addition to Manchester United, the Glazers also own the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the US-based National Football League (NFL). Amongst others to have picked up the document are Adani Group, Torrent Pharma, Aurobindo Pharma, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, Hindustan Times Media, Jindal Steel (led by Naveen Jindal), entrepreneur Ronnie Screwvala and three private equity players. The deadline to purchase the ITT document was 20th October and teams are bid submissions are said to be made on the 25h October with an announcement expected on the following day. Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Guwahati, Cuttack, Indore, and Dharamsala are in contention to home to the new teams. Also Read- UEFA Champions League: Messi scores twice to rescue PSG in 3-2 win over Leipzig
MUMBAI: Young pacemaker Imran Malik says he would like to cross the speed of 155 km/h someday, but his main focus is on bowling in the right areas as he claimed his first pentathlon in the IPL.The 22-year-old put Jammu Sunrisers Hyderabad on the brink of winning by numbers 5/25 before Rahul Tewatiya and Rashid Khan smashed four sixes in the final as the Gujarat Titans won the match by five. shutter.Although his efforts were in vain, Imran was declared Man of the Match by one of the best bowlers in IPL history.Umran Malik with a casual 153 km/h yorker to send Wriddhiman Saha packing. Unreal. #GTvsSRH pic.twitter.com/dDhRGeO8mc— Mike Stopforth (@mikestopforth) April 27, 2022Malik said after the match on Wednesday night, “The idea was to throw fast, maintain length, and plan wickets. I took out Hardik Bhai with a goalkeeper and mixed (Wridyman) Saha and took him out with Yorker.”"I tried to mix up my bowling and focus on the wicket because it's a small ground. Otherwise, our bowling would have been fine."Asked if he still wanted to touch 155 km/h, he said: "I just want to throw in the right areas and in good terrain and if I have to do it above 155 mph, God willing, I will one day."Malik has been consistently running at over 150 kilometers per hour throughout the season, taking 15 wickets in eight games for an average of 15.93.Malik went into attack late on the eighth day, delivering devastating fast delivers through the Gujarat Titans' top rankings, becoming the first IPL footballer to take the first five wickets of innings. He smashed Shubman Gill's torso on his first wicket, before sending out Hardik Pandya with a combination of speed and jump.Next, he produced a perfect speed of 153 km/h to break a wicket and Redman Saha, before David Miller and Abinav Manohar each signed five wickets. Also, Read - Who is the new God of cricket after Sachin Tendulkar?
The story of Kuldeep Yadav's return is increasing day by day. He was only able to pick up five wickets in 14 games for the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2019 and 2020 before setting off the bench for good in 2021. In the two games he's played against KKR this season, Kuldeep now has eight wickets in his bag alone. On Thursday night, he took 4/14 reserve 4/35 in the previous game. When he broke the KKR draw for the second time this season, he offered Team Delhi Capitals a comeback in the competition by restricting KKR to 146/9. His spell set up the game for a tense assortment of hits in the capitals to chase the target with six balls and four wickets to spare. The undefeated Ruffman Powell 16-ball 33 calmed nerves on the Capitals bench when David Warner knocked off 26-ball 42 and captain Rishabh Pant 2 for 84/5 on 12. The KKR's freefall under new captain Shreyas Iyer isn't over.Kuldeep publicly expressed the confidence Rishabh Pant put in him during the tournament. He delivered it back at Wankhede Stadium. After Mustafa Rahman, Chetan Sakarya, Aksar Patel, and Chardol Thakur choked each other out in a power game, Kuldeep claimed a share of IPL starters Baba Inderjit and Sunil Naren in the second and third balls. Spell to reduce KKR to 4/35.Kuldeep Yadav has picked up his fourth wicket and Andre Russell goes for a duck.Just as Iyer seemed to gain some momentum with his 42 for 37, Pant miraculously caught a shot from Kuldeep. The dangerous Kuldeep tricked Andre Russell three balls later and stopped him for a duck. The pitch looked double-paced and Coldip's bluff was too much for the KKR's hitting lineup, which was 83/6 on the 14th.Despite all the talk about Pant's faith in Kuldeep, he hasn't let Kuldeep complete his full quota of four sums. Perhaps the KKR had a window to break out, and Nitish Rana replaced Lalit Yadav with an 18 in 17 runs to add some momentum to the roles. Rana seemed to be the only stable thing in the chaotic KKR arena that cut and replaced their eleventh game in a big way. The team does not match the team that started within the tournament. With his calm head and clear vision, he threatened to inflict great damage on the people of the capital with 57 out of 34 balls. During his 34-ball 62 trade partnership with Rinku Singh on the seventh wicket, Rana was exposing the weak points of the capitals. Bowling of Death Mustafizur played his magic in the final, conceding just two runs and catching three wickets, finishing four overs at 3/18 numbers, and making sure KKR didn't get away with the game.Read More - Who is Richest Cricketers in the World | PITCHHIGH
The form of former Bangalore royal captain Virat Kohli has been the subject of debate this season. Against theGujarat Titans last week, he looked like he had rediscovered his form with 53 balls from 58. But his struggle, especially against impacts, came to light again on Wednesday against Chennai Super Kings. Kohli took 33 balls to collect 30 times and then played a part in Glenn Maxwell's race to stop RCB innings. However, on this day, Kohli didn't have to worry about all the fuss about his form as RCB got back on the winning track with an impressive bowling performance. RCB's Mahipal Lomror also demonstrated refinement and self-control while playing 27 Ball 42 (3v4; 2v6).How did the scorecard happen | brand paperLomror and Karthik took the RCB to 173/8 at the MCA Stadium in Pune. On a field with good spin and good rebound, pacemakers Josh Hazelwood (1/19), Maxwell (2/22), and Harshal Patel (3/35) prepared the material to break the team's three-game losing streak. RCB won 13 races.CSK beginners Ruturaj Gaikwad (28) and Devon Conway (56) tried to recreate the magic of their previous encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad, sharing 182 points. While Shahbaz Ahmed halted the Gaikwad line, Maxwell tipped the scales in RCB's favor by bringing back the quick successors Robin Uthappa and Ambati Rayudu.Moin Ali followed up his value on the ball with 27 34 balls, but after being sent off by Marshall on the 18th, the striker began to fall apart with hasty exits from Ravindra Jadeja, Doni, and Dwayne Pretorius.Earlier, the racket's RCB team was invited, along with Captain Faf du Plessis (38) and Kohli, uniting their half-century partnership at five venues for the best start to the season. But the spinning start in Episode VI - dropped by Mahesh Thekshana (3/27) - left RCB behind. The man who turned the moment in favor of CSK was veteran Ali (2/28). Returning to the team after a five-game gap in the season with no small gate, he took the spinner only twice to prove he's back in action.Ali breaks the opening podium when du Plessis mistimed Loeb's delivery, which Jadeja took deep in the middle of the wicket. The miscommunication with Kohli and his reluctance to exercise Maxwell continued. Ali returned to the top ranking in the RCB when Kohli hit a flat delivery, crashing between the bat and the bag to crash into logs. While Rajat Patidar, 21, was brought back with an excellent throw from Pretorius along with Mukesh Chaudhary, Lomor decided to crush him. The 22-year-old left-footed batsman showed his potential by making a slow drop to Thikshana with a deep square leg and a six to Pretorius. Dinesh Karthik came back between the sets and played the 26-17 game unbeaten. Also Read, - Who is the Best Yorker King? | PITCHHIGH
Hardik Pandya is a happy person. Without any leadership experience, he was named the captain of Gujarat Titans at the start of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Now, his team is the first to enter the IPL 2022 Qualifiers. They have cemented their place in the top four with two matches remaining. He scored nine wins and 18 points in 12 matches. Wins over LSG became even more endearing after GT suffered setbacks in their last two matches against Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians. After winning the LSG, Pandya revealed the message he sent to the GT team during the match against LSG, which they won by 62 runs.“Really proud of the guys. When we started this journey together it was clear that we had confidence in ourselves, but it was a huge effort before we qualified for Match 14 and we were very proud of the last match On me, I spoke to the people (loss to MI) as we thought the match was over before it was over,” Hardik Pandya said after the match."It was a lesson we learned. I think we have always been under pressure because of the number of matches we have won. The last match was the only match we were ahead of the match and we knew how we had K hitters and we were leaving." She ended. But that was not the case. It was a collective thing. Even in this match (against LSG) when they were both eight, I said, "Let's be tough. This game is beautiful. If it's over it's not over, it's not over." So let's make sure we get over it. If they're disappointed, let them go, do it, and rest after the match. He also talked about the return of GT despite losing the last two games. "I always think that when you lose a game like we played the last game in a group, the important thing is that we win the match as a team and play the match as a team. We lose. We didn't do what we were supposed to do and we know we messed it up a little bit, but we're going to screw it up as a team." One. We say as a team 'we won.' Of course, if we lose we say 'we lost' instead of saying: this man, that man. We laughed too. It is important to ensure that we always maintain the atmosphere."Pandya paid tribute to left-hander Sai Kishore, who made two bets for seven runs in his first match in IPL 2022.“Sai, I rated him very highly as a left-arm bowler. He is a very professional bowler. Because of his length and speed, he gets more wickets. Because of their fast bowling attack, I am not. We don't have to. I haven't. But looking at these wickets, we thought if we added a right-hand axle, it would make a big difference.GT may have posted a total of 144/4, but Pandya was always confident of victory. "The way he hit everyone, especially Shopman, I thought at 145 we were in the game. I think his bowling was too short. The extra length was helpful." So it was also a group chat. If you throw really far or go too far then only two pieces can score a goal, or cover the lead. The bowlers did everything they had to do and we adjusted all the mattresses. ,Also Read, Who is the Best Yorker King? | PITCHHIGH

The captain of the Gujarat Titans was concerned about his fitness, especially in bowling. But Pandya managed to lead his team to their first-ever IPL title in front of their home crowd in Ahmedabad. He finished the season with 487 runs in 15 games with an average of 44.27, taking eight wickets including four half-centuries.There is no denying that the spotlight will be on Pandya and her all-around skills in the five-match series.KL Rahul:KL Rahul's leadership as well as his hitting earned him plenty of praise during the Lucknow Super Giants campaign at the IPL 2022, where he qualified for the playoffs before collapsing against the eliminated.Bowler Rahul has started an impressive season with the bats, becoming the tournament's second-best scorer with 616 hits with an average of 51.33, although his batting average of 135.38 has been the subject of much debate.India expects Rahul to get a little more aggressive with the top of the bat.Dinesh Karthik:Dinesh Karthik has not only knocked on the door of selection but also opened it wide with consistent performances as a specialist finalist for the Royal Challengers Bangalore at IPL 2022. Karthik also won the "Super Striker of the Season" award from the IPL with an amazing punch performance. 183, scoring 242 points with a 220 strike average on the death stage, once again proved his ultimate credentials. With the T20I team retired, Karthik is looking to replicate his IPL 2022 performance in the Indian jersey and secure a place on the men's T20 World Cup journey in Australia at the end of the year.Imran Malik:The speed machine from Jammu to Sunrisers Hyderabad attracted everyone's attention, constantly clocking more than 150 km per hour. NEW DELHI: With Lucknow Super Giants virtually out of contention for the IPL playoffs, KL Rahul's position as the team's captain hangs in uncertainty for the remaining two games following their heavy defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday. It's widely believed that the LSG skipper, signed for a record Rs 17 crore before the 2022 auction, won't be retained ahead of the mega auctions in 2025.However, there are rumors suggesting that he might voluntarily step down to focus on his batting in the upcoming matches. There is a five-day gap before the next game against DC. As of now, no decision has been taken but it is understood that if Rahul plans to just concentrate on his batting for the remaining two games, the management won't mind," an IPL source told PTI on conditions of anonymity.Following Sunrisers Hyderabad openers Travis Head (89 not out off 30 balls) and Abhishek Sharma (75 off 28 balls) reaching the target of 167 in less than 10 overs, videos surfaced on social media showing an agitated conversation between LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka and KL Rahul. This was after the LSG batters struggled to get going on the same track in Hyderabad.Worse, Rahul's (29 off 33 balls) batting in the Powerplay has been one of the biggest reasons for LSG's below-par show in the cash-rich league and it seems that Goenka has finally run out of patience. The India star has scored 460 runs in 12 games and could again cross the 500-run mark for the season but it is his strike-rate of 136.09 which is the problem.LSG are still mathematically in contention as they can reach 16 points by winning their remaining two games -- vs Delhi Capitals in New Delhi on May 14 and vs Mumbai Indians at Wankhede on May 17.However, it will be very difficult to massively improve upon the net run-rate (-0.760).In case, Rahul decides to step down, vice-captain Nicholas Pooran, easily the team's most impactful batter in the season, is likely to take over for the remaining two games. Also Read: ICC names Yuvraj Singh as brand ambassador for T20 World Cup 2024
Sunrisers Hyderabad CEO Kavya Maran has called for a ban on overseas players who withdraw from the IPL despite having secured a contract. On Wednesday, July 31, the BCCI convened a meeting with IPL franchise owners to discuss potential changes to the league's rules and regulations. Key topics included player retention rules, the right to match (RTM) options, and the frequency of the league's mega auction, which currently occurs every three years. One significant topic was the issue of foreign players who, despite being signed, do not participate in the tournament. While some withdrawals are due to injuries, franchises have been dissatisfied with other reasons given for such absences.Maran expressed her frustration, stating that foreign players who withdraw for reasons other than injury should be banned from the league. "After being selected in the auction, if a player doesn't come to play the season for any reason apart from injury, he should be banned," she said. "Franchises invest considerable effort in the auction to build their teams, and a player's withdrawal affects the team's balance and combination."During IPL 2024, Sunrisers Hyderabad were particularly displeased with all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga's withdrawal. Although Hasaranga cited an injury, SRH believed the primary reason was his lower IPL salary compared to his previous earnings with RCB.Maran also proposed changes to the retention and RTM rules. She suggested that each team should be allowed a minimum of seven retention/RTM options, with the distribution between retentions and RTMs left to the discretion of the franchises. Additionally, she advocated for removing the cap on the number of foreign players a team can retain, arguing that this would allow teams with a strong foreign contingent, like SRH, to maintain their core players. Also Read: Top 10 Most Physically Challenging Sports
